Industrial Valves: A Brief Guide

Industrial valves are one of the most important parts of any system. Especially systems that carry substances from one place to another. These valves allow the flow of these substances by controlling the input and the output. Often, the substances can be hazardous to humans, and need to be contained properly. This is where industrial valves come into play. They allow humans to control substances without having to come in direct contact with them.

For instance, these valves are able to stand extreme temperature and high pressures. Plus, they come in different forms, such as slurries, liquids and gases. When used appropriately and maintained well, industrial valves can last for long periods of time. 

There are several types of industrial valves. Here are a few common ones. Gate valves consist of a channel that can be closed and opened by displacing  a metal gate down and up. If the gate is raised, the channel is cleared. Vice versa for the other alternate option. Next, butterfly valves have small paddles that are located at the axis of the channel. This allows the valve to obstruct the movement of the substance, ensuring that it slows it down. 

Ball valves are exactly as it is described, it has a perforated ball in them. Activating the valves ensures that the ball is turned, which will eventually increase the flow of the substance. Then the perforation is placed in line with the channel. Moving on, we have globe valves. These valves consist of a S-shaped channel and an oriented valve component that is horizontal. The component is lowered and raised to control the flow of any substance passing through it.  
You can usually find these industrial valves being used in manufacturing, processing and creating stations all over the factories.
